Undergraduate grant opportunities
- Undergraduate Research Office
- Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research
Awarding research support to undergraduate and graduate students for 80 years. Most grants range from a few hundred dollars to $1,000. Students apply online. - ASM Undergraduate Research Fellowship (URF)
The URF allows students to conduct research in the summer with an ASM member faculty mentor at their home institution and present the results at the ASM General Meeting the following year. The fellowship requires a joint application from both the student and faculty mentor. Applications are available online. The deadline is usually February 1 each year. - ASM Microbiology Undergraduate Research Fellowship (MURF)
The MURF provides an opportunity for historically excluded and underrepresented students to participate in research projects at their home institutionor at selected institutions throughout the U.S. and gain experience presenting the results of their research at the ASM General Meeting the following year. Applications are available online. The deadline is usually February 1 each year.
